The Court of Appeal has postponed further hearing of the writ petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Suresh Salley until July 27.
The petition challenges his arrest and detention in connection with the ongoing investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
When the matter was taken up before the Court today (21), President's Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena, appearing on behalf of Suresh Salley, concluded his submissions.
Following the completion of the petitioner's arguments, the Court directed that the case be called again on July 27 for further proceedings.
At the next hearing, Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath, representing the Attorney General, is expected to present submissions before the Court.
