Sri Lanka's Department of Examinations has issued an important notice for candidates sitting the 2026 General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Examination, which is scheduled to be held from August 10 to September 5.
According to the department, this year's examination will be conducted at 2,532 examination centres across the country.
Admission cards for school candidates have already been distributed to the relevant Zonal Education Offices. School principals have been instructed to collect the admission cards from the Deputy or Assistant Director of Education responsible for examinations at their respective Zonal Education Offices.
Meanwhile, admission cards for private candidates are being dispatched by post to the addresses provided in their applications.
The Department of Examinations has also announced that candidates will be able to request corrections if any errors are found on their admission cards.
For school candidates, principals must submit corrections through the official website of the Department of Examinations using the user credentials provided to their schools.
Private candidates can also correct details online by visiting the department's official website and entering their National Identity Card (NIC) number.
The department emphasized that all admission card corrections must be completed before 12:00 midnight on August 3, adding that the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.
