The second One Day International (ODI) between Sri Lanka and the West Indies was abandoned due to persistent rain at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica.

West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and elected to field first in the rain-affected encounter, hoping to capitalize on the overcast conditions. However, unfavorable weather prevented the match from progressing as planned.

The toss itself was delayed by approximately 30 minutes due to early morning showers, with rain continuing to threaten throughout the day. Drizzle returned shortly before the scheduled start of play, creating challenging conditions for both teams and officials.

The West Indies entered the match needing a victory to level the three-match ODI series after Sri Lanka secured a win in the opening match. That victory marked Sri Lanka’s first ODI triumph in the Caribbean since 2013.

Despite hopes that the weather would improve, continued rainfall ultimately forced match officials to abandon the contest.

As a result, the series remains in Sri Lanka’s favor heading into the final ODI, which will now determine whether the visitors secure the series or the hosts manage to level it.
