West Indies secured a thrilling five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the third and final Twenty20 International at Sabina Park, Kingston, to clinch the three-match series 2-1.
After being invited to bat first, Sri Lanka struggled to build momentum throughout their innings despite a few promising contributions from the middle order. Regular wickets prevented the visitors from posting a more challenging total, and they were eventually bowled out for 169 runs in exactly 20 overs.
Chasing a target of 170, the West Indies faced periods of pressure but managed to stay on course thanks to a composed batting performance and timely partnerships.
The match remained finely balanced until the closing stages, with Sri Lanka's bowlers pushing the hosts all the way. However, West Indies held their nerve and successfully reached 170 for 5 with two deliveries remaining.
The victory handed the Caribbean side a 2-1 series triumph after a competitive contest between the two teams.
The result also provided a strong finish for the hosts, who bounced back after Sri Lanka's impressive performances earlier in the series.
