The Sri Lankan rupee continued to weaken against the US dollar, according to the latest daily exchange rates released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) today (25).

The Central Bank’s daily exchange rate bulletin shows the buying rate for one US dollar at Rs. 332.3416, while the selling rate has increased to Rs. 342.0372.

The latest figures indicate a further depreciation of the local currency compared to the previous trading day.

On June 24, the Central Bank quoted the US dollar buying rate at Rs. 330.3515 and the selling rate at Rs. 340.0685.

The updated exchange rates reflect a continued decline in the value of the Sri Lankan rupee against the US dollar. Exchange rate movements are closely monitored as they can influence import costs, export competitiveness and overall economic activity.
