The Sri Lankan Rupee has weakened against the US Dollar, according to the latest exchange rates released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) today (22).
Based on the daily exchange rate bulletin, the buying rate of the US Dollar was recorded at Rs. 329.30, while the selling rate increased to Rs. 339.06.
The latest figures indicate a slight depreciation of the local currency compared to the previous trading day.
According to exchange rates published by the Central Bank on Friday, the buying rate of the US Dollar stood at Rs. 328.00, while the selling rate was Rs. 338.70.
The increase in both buying and selling rates reflects continued pressure on the Sri Lankan Rupee in the foreign exchange market.
Exchange rate fluctuations remain closely watched by businesses, importers, exporters and investors, as movements in the value of the Dollar can directly impact the prices of imported goods, fuel and other essential commodities.
