The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 12-hour water supply interruption in several areas today (11) to facilitate essential pipeline relocation work linked to the construction of the Central Expressway.

According to the NWSDB, the water cut will be in effect from 7.00 p.m. today until 7.00 a.m. tomorrow (12).

The temporary suspension will affect several Grama Niladhari Divisions within the Mahara and Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha areas.

Residents in the Eldeniya, Gonahena, Webada, Sooriyapaluwa and Udupila Grama Niladhari Divisions under the Mahara Pradeshiya Sabha are expected to experience the water interruption.

The water cut will also affect residents in the Parakandeniya, Kossinna, Abaraluwa, Imbulgoda and Yagoda Grama Niladhari Divisions within the Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha area.

The NWSDB stated that the interruption is necessary to carry out maintenance and infrastructure work associated with the ongoing Central Expressway project.

Consumers in the affected areas are advised to make adequate arrangements in advance to minimize inconvenience during the water supply interruption.
