The Sri Lankan Rupee weakened against the US Dollar on June 17, according to the latest exchange rates released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Based on the daily exchange rate bulletin, the buying rate of the US Dollar increased to Rs. 330.02, while the selling rate rose to Rs. 339.90.

The latest figures indicate a further depreciation of the local currency compared to the previous trading day.

On June 16, the CBSL recorded the buying rate of the US Dollar at Rs. 328.29 and the selling rate at Rs. 338.22.

The movement reflects a continued fluctuation in the foreign exchange market, with the Rupee losing value against the US Dollar compared to the previous day.

Exchange rate movements are closely monitored by businesses, importers, exporters and investors as they can influence the cost of goods, services and foreign transactions.
