A three-wheeler travelling from Katunayake to Talawakelle-Lindula veered off the road and fell nearly 100 feet down a slope, leaving its driver injured.
The accident occurred at around 4.00 p.m. yesterday (15) in the Carolina Estate area on the Hatton-Colombo main road.
According to preliminary police investigations, the driver is believed to have fallen asleep while driving, causing the vehicle to lose control and go off the road.
The injured driver was admitted to the Watawala District Hospital for treatment.
The three-wheeler was also severely damaged in the accident.
