The Western Province continues to record the highest number of dengue infections in Sri Lanka, with reported cases now approaching the 35,000 mark, according to the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU).
The latest figures show that 66,064 dengue cases have been reported across the country so far this year.
Health authorities also confirmed that the dengue-related death toll has increased to 46 as of today (10).
District-wise data released by the NDCU indicates that Gampaha District has recorded the highest number of infections with 13,556 cases, followed by Colombo District with 13,355 cases.
Meanwhile, Matara District has reported 4,699 cases, while Kalutara District has recorded 4,425 infections during the same period.
The National Dengue Control Unit continues to urge the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, maintain clean surroundings and seek immediate medical attention if dengue symptoms develop, as prevention campaigns continue across the country.
